My initial piece inspired by the 50th anniversary of the movie Jaws (famously known to have been filmed on Martha's Vineyard back in 1974) was this spin on a real-life sign you will pass on your way to the ferry that will take you to our island.

The original says "Martha's Vineyard Next Left," which I updated to say "Amity Island Next Left," which is the name of the island that Jaws takes place on.

This 5x7" original cut paper illustration is framed in a completely custom-made frame by local craftsman David Wiley. Featuring dovetail joints, and some beautiful pine grain, it is all safely protected behind Museum Glass meaning the artwork is protected from sunlight, glares, and clear as heck so you can see all the little details without distractions. Signed in the bottom right, with the year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of the blockbuster.

About Original Works of Cut Paper Art

When making a dimensional paper illustration, I carefully cut each shape and layer the paper by hand (my personal favorite part). Then, it's "just" a matter of gluing it all together. Once layered and glued, each piece actually is about 2 inches deep, requiring a custom shadowbox frame.

Original illustrations arrive professionally framed, featuring museum glass that is not only entirely clear but anti-glare and UV-protected to boot. The shadowbox frame is made on Martha's Vineyard from cherry by professional woodworker David Wiley.

Also to note: for all of my original illustrations, they are professionally packed, shipped, and insured to provide extra security (and peace of mind) in the shipping process.
