This was a custom order of the famous local ArtCliff Diner in Vineyard Haven. With the original being 24×14″ and coming out nearly 4″ in the frame, I was able to include lots of little details and quirks that just wouldn’t be possible with a smaller size.
All cut by hand, and made from a variety of paper types, this architectural piece took about 5 weeks of production plus the time drawing and planning out the design.
With details such as watercolored papers for the “weathered” look on the shingles and roofing, to having each layer of the iconic Artcliff Diner sign and logo cut by hand, this piece is jam packed (pun intended) with care.
Be sure to notice the little open sign proudly hanging in the window too.
This was framed in a cherry wood frame, with dovetail joints and museum grade glass. Custom framed by David Wiley, a local professional craftsman with impeccable attention to detail.
